Put bread baking on a schedule with DoughBed by Sourhouse™: A warm, easy-to-store tool for home bakers who want to confidently proof bread dough just right, every time, on time.
DoughBed combines a warming mat, a glass dough bowl, and a cork lid to create an efficient warming solution that gently and evenly warms dough to 75-82°F (24-28°C) during the first "bulk" proof. The shallow, wide bowl makes mixing and dough handling a pleasure.
With DoughBed, bakers will have consistent dough temp. This means proofing times will always be consistent so bakers can confidently know when their dough will be ready to shape.
Works with sourdough, yeast, and quick breads.

The doughbed is perfect for home bakers! I love how consistent my dough temperature was throughout the bulk fermentation time. I was told I could just walk away, but I had to check! This works!
I ordered the Dough Bed based on reviews and the brief, and somewhat misleading description provided. While it is a lovely unit, and the glass bowl is large and seems great for mixing and folding dough, I was very disappointed and am returning it. First of all, you must have the correct charging device to connect to the USB cord, because not just any charger will work. You can’t tell if the warming mat is even working unless you have an "infrared thermometer” lying around your house to gauge the mat’s temperature, because you can’t feel the heat coming from the mat. If you’re new to sourdough, this Dough Bed can make the last proofing phase troubling because there are no measurement or marker lines on the glass to give you a starting point. So you may be left wondering/questioning or praying to the sourdough Gods whether it’s time to shape or not. So unless you have the experience and know your dough, this phase could be quite frustrating. The fact that it will ONLY heat UP to 78 degrees means longer proofing time for this sourdough baker. MOSTLY Sourhouse WILL NOT refund you if the unit is used. They charge for shipping the unit to you and YOU and they DO NOT provide shipping labels for returns; which cost me $72 for shipping it back to them. I’m hoping they’ll "accept" my return once it’s "been processed" because I want to buy their starter warmer kit 😋
Hi Judy...sorry to hear about your experience. The included dough proofing guide gives you the guidance for using DoughBed to proof based by time rather than volume increase. Typically 6hrs for bulk is a good place to start.
DoughBed might not be needed if you keep you house above 78ºF but it wouldn't make your proofing go slower as the warmer room temp would still warm you dough as usual.
We mention that is a USB plug multiple times and have return info on our return page to try to prevent any confusion.
I bought it for my wife after she took up baking at the start of the year. She's absolutely in love with it, has cut down proofing time massively and improved consistency. As I bought it I got the message to review but she's telling me it's one of the best things I've got her.
Love my dough bed! I was having trouble with proofing and getting a good rise. I use it along with the Goldie and I am now making amazing sourdough loaves and I am able to set my schedule better based on consistency!
The Doughbed had been life changing when it comes to making a beautiful loaf! It has been a wonderful investment for me, because it helps take out some of the guess work of making a perfect loaf. I will be using it for years, so it will certainly be worth the value!
