Starter Jars for Texas Flooding Relief

We are saddened to see the pain and suffering in Central Texas over the last few days.

Our hearts go out of the people and families impacted by the flash floods which have claimed over 100 lives.

In solidarity with the impacted people and the people taking time to offer aid, we are committing the revenue of Sourhouse Starter Jar sales from July 8th to the 11th towards relief.

Sourdough bakers are generous people and have been great supporters since the flooding from hurricane Helene ravaged Western North Carolina and Sourhouse hometown of Asheville, NC last year.

We invite you to join us in supporting local organizations that are lending aid in a time of need.

Here are a few additional ways to give support:

Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country – Kerr County Flood Relief Fund – supporting local recovery efforts in one of the hardest-hit regions.

San Antonio Food Bank – providing food and supplies to families in crisis.

Operation BBQ Relief, a nonprofit founded by Kansas City pitmasters to offer meals after disasters, set up two locations to provide meals in Kerrville and takes donations and volunteers.

H-E-B, which began in Kerrville, is taking donations in-store and online through their Spirit of Giving Fund. The company says 100% of donations will be donated to support flood relief efforts.

If you in an area of Texas impacted by the flooding, here is a list of resources and another list of resources.
